Risk Management Planning

Minimizing the impact of wetlands regulations can be an important business goal. At Mostardi Platt Environmental, we understand the regulations - and your point of view.

We provide full-spectrum wetland assessment services, from background data and regulatory reviews to permit applications. Our trained scientists can help you identify the best ways to avoid or minimize complex regulatory issues.

Wetlands Assessment Services
You'll benefit from our full-spectrum capabilities and customized approach that provide the right services for your specific wetlands situation and needs.

A typical process may include:

Background Data Review
This off-site activity consists of a review of historical and current aerial photographs, topographic maps, wetland inventory maps, and soil surveys to evaluate past and present property conditions.

Wetland Site Assessment
Trained professionals visit each property to document current site conditions. During the visit, the presence of the three mandatory wetland criteria (hydric soils, hydrophytic vegetation, and wetland hydrology) are assessed.

Wetland Delineation
Our scientists identify the extent of the areas exhibiting the mandatory wetland criteria. They perform vegetative surveys, soil sampling, and hydrology assessments.

Local, state and federal regulatory reviews
We identify wetland regulations at each level for wetlands, wetland impacts, and wetland mitigation. This enables streamlined compliance, and helps identify options for avoiding or minimizing wetland impacts, wetland mitigation options, and wetland permits preparation.

Wetland Assessment/Delineation Report
Following the wetland assessment or delineation, we prepare a final report that summarizes the background data review; site observations; and federal, state, and local regulations.

Wetland Permit Application Preparation
If identified wetlands will be impacted by the proposed development, we will prepare the Section 404 of the Clean Water Act permit application for the proposed activities. In addition, we will prepare the appropriate applications to comply with the local wetland regulations, if any.

Fatal Flaw Environmental Evaluation
Our wetland assessment services may also include a fatal flaw environmental evaluation. This is designed to identify environmental concerns that may potentially hinder proposed developments.

The fatal flaw environmental evaluation may include the following:
• Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
• Wetland assessment,
• Floodplain and floodway review,
• Threatened and endangered species review,
• Historical, archaeological, and cultural resources review, and
• Other client-specific items that are related to the proposed development.
